Describe what you do at Arts ISIT
As an AV Specialist at Arts ISIT, we support the Faculty of Arts by setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting classroom and event technology, including projectors, microphones, speakers, and other AV equipment. We respond to technical issues, perform regular maintenance, and assist with special events such as lectures and conferences.
We also train faculty and staff on using AV systems, communicate technical information in simple terms, and manage AV equipment inventory.
What is the best thing about the work you do at Arts ISIT?
The best thing about working at Arts ISIT is making a real difference for faculty and students by ensuring classes and events run smoothly without technical difficulties. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to solve problems, help people, and learn about the latest technology.
It’s rewarding to support teaching and learning, and I enjoy working in a collaborative team where everyone is dedicated to providing excellent service to the Faculty of Arts. Helping instructors feel confident with technology is especially fulfilling.
What are your areas of expertise?
With a background in theatre production and design, technical support and event planning are well within my area of expertise. Over the past 7+ years, I have developed strong skills as a Stage Manager, Producer, and Event Coordinator, allowing me to handle a wide range of technical tasks and logistical challenges with confidence.
My experience has equipped me with a keen eye for detail, effective problem-solving abilities, and a talent for coordinating complex events from start to finish. I am adept at working under pressure, collaborating with diverse teams, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
