Canvas discussion boards and Collaborate Ultra break out rooms are easy ways to engage students in asynchronous and synchronous discussions within the online learning context. While Collaborate Ultra break out rooms enable student participation during class times, Canvas discussions are an effective way of getting students involved in more reflective discussions. In many ways, the challenge for instructors lies in connecting collaborative activities to course materials.
