Keeping the Integrity: Language Assessments for Online Learning Environments – JUNE 11, 2020

The new realities of the digital pedagogical context highlight the urgent need to swiftly reshape and define language assessments so they both meet course and program learning outcomes and also effectively engage academic integrity standards and practices for the online classroom.

In this session, Brianne Orr-Álvarez (Instructor & Program Director of Spanish, FHIS; Director of the FHIS Learning Centre) and Qian Wang (Senior Instructor & Program Director of Chinese, ASIA) will offer a framework for assessment and evaluation in online teaching and learning contexts, with a focus on academic integrity as a guideline and practice. Presenters will propose best practices and examples of effective assessments for the language classroom as we anticipate our continued online presence for the Fall 2020 term.
