Killam Teaching Prize and Graduate Teaching Assistant Award

Meet the six faculty members and three teaching assistants from the Faculty of Arts who are being honoured for their excellence in teaching.

Dean of Arts Educational Leadership and Innovation Award

Available across the Faculty of Arts, the award supports Educational Leadership faculty with developing innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

Congratulations to Dr. Luisa Canuto, Dr. Christine Evans, and Dr. Moberley Luger!

 

OER Excellence and Impact Award

This year’s recipients include Social Work instructors Dr. Kelly Allison and Dr. Marie Nightbird, who are recognized for creating an open educational resource for their Social Work course.

Their project, A Toolkit for Teaching Communication Skills in Social Work, offers a series of videos to support students’ learning and exploration of interpersonal communication.

 

AMS UBC Teaching and Learning Champions Awards

Ten Arts recipients have also been awarded at the AMS UBC Teaching and Learning Champions Gala. The awards honour UBC faculty and staff who have gone above and beyond in advancing Open Educational Resources (OER) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) methods to enhance accessibility and affordability for students.

OER Champions Award

Recipients of the OER Champions Award include four Arts faculty members who advancing the use and impact of open educational resources at UBC.

UDL Champions Award

Introduced this year, the UDL Champions Award celebrates the work of faculty and staff in advocating for Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to foster more inclusive, accessible classrooms.
