OER Excellence and Impact Award
This year’s recipients include Social Work instructors Dr. Kelly Allison and Dr. Marie Nightbird, who are recognized for creating an open educational resource for their Social Work course.
Their project, A Toolkit for Teaching Communication Skills in Social Work, offers a series of videos to support students’ learning and exploration of interpersonal communication.

AMS UBC Teaching and Learning Champions Awards
Eight Arts recipients have also been awarded at the AMS UBC Teaching and Learning Champions Gala. The awards honour UBC faculty and staff who have gone above and beyond in advancing Open Educational Resources (OER) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) methods to enhance accessibility and affordability for students.
