Remote Arts ISIT Support

In response to physical distancing protocols, Arts ISIT is providing support remotely through email (arts.helpdesk@ubc.ca), phone (604 827 2787), webinars, and virtual drop-in sessions. Staff are available Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Working From Home

While we work from home, it is important to understand proper security policies for any kind of work, including information systems, administrative, research projects, and more. Communications

This section covers general tools for team communications. If you are looking for video teaching tools, please visit the Video & Presentations section. Arts ISIT offers support for Zoom and Skype For Business. Depending on you and your teams’ needs, one tool may be more effective than the other.

Zoom is one of the most versatile video-conferencing tools available for UBC Faculty and Staff, allowing everything from team meetings to live lectures.

Important* Please note that Arts ISIT cannot create Zoom accounts. You must do this with UBC IT. If you need a Zoom account, please email the IT Audio/Visual Helpdesk at av.helpdesk@ubc.ca with:

Keep Learning is a student resource that provides support with the transition to online classrooms. With remote teaching, students cannot easily access specific online resources and software that would normally be available in the computer labs. We’ve compiled a list of instructions that will guide you step-by-step on how to download specific software on your home computer and/or laptop.
