Funded Project Support

Arts ISIT recognizes the importance of funded projects in helping you enhance student learning.

We provide dedicated support and consultation during proposal development as well as pedagogical, technical, and evaluation support during the project to help you bring your ideas into practice.

We work closely with various groups on campus such as the Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Technology (CTLT), UBC IT, and UBC Library to help coordinate the right type of support services for your project. Along with CTLT, we can also provide feedback and support on your proposal ahead of submission and help you with pedagogical approaches, learning technology, evaluation, learning analytics, budget development, and background research.

We can also assist in the coordination between similar projects within Arts and help you make connections with central units like CTLT, UBC Studios, and the UBC Emerging Media Lab for support.

CTLT also offers drop-in consultations sessions for additional proposal support.

Arts-supported funds

Teaching & Learning Enhancement Fund

The Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) was created to enrich student learning by supporting innovative and effective educational enhancements. Each year, the UBC Provost invites applications for the TLEF for initiatives that will improve the student learning experience at our university.

Open Educational Resources Fund

The Open Educational Resources (OER) fund aims to support affordable and inclusive access to learning materials through the development and use of open educational resources in UBCV credit courses.

There are two types of OER grants:

  • OER Affordability Grants provide funding and staff support to UBC faculty who wish to incorporate open educational resources as required materials into their UBCV credit courses.
  • OER Rapid Innovation Grants provide funding for a wide range of activities and events that seek to engage the UBC community in increasing awareness and capacity for supporting and sustaining the adoption, adaption, and creation of OER at UBCV.
