What year did you begin to work at Arts ISIT?
2022
Describe what you do at Arts ISIT
My role works closely with content strategy and development team members to address the functional requirements identified by our project team and design new sites, systems, and tools to improve existing systems for many types of users at UBC.
User Experience (UX) design aims to understand the needs and behaviours of users and provide useful digital solutions to help increase user efficiency and/or address missing functionalities in an application that can benefit all.
What is the best thing about the work you do at Arts ISIT?
It’s rather exciting that the solutions we explore project-to-project can differ vastly from one another while still leveraging an underlying design system and set of principles. For me, this helps allow for a reasonable amount of creativity in each request that is supported by key elements of our design and content strategy.
With our continual improvements over time, all of our sites and tools will benefit from an increased level of accessibility, which is fantastic!

Can you share some of your personal interests or hobbies?
For years, I’ve played guitar in a local metal band so creating music and playing/attending shows has been a substantial part of my free time. I love international travel and enjoy experiencing incredible foods from a unique culture, but when closer to home I’m never too far away from my Kurt Vonnegut books, vintage horror films, and a pinball table or two.
