Describe what you do at Arts ISIT
As the Associate Director of Service Strategy and Design, I oversee several teams in Arts ISIT including our Project Administration, Digital Strategy, Service Portfolio, and Systems & Development teams.
Our team is responsible for planning and implementing projects and continual improvement initiatives, maintaining web applications and servers, and creating awareness of Arts ISIT’s services, as well as any technology-related updates that may impact Arts faculty and staff.
What is the best thing about the work you do at Arts ISIT?
Being able to see how our work positively impacts people in the Faculty, and allows them to achieve their goals. I love being able to see the difference from when a faculty or staff member comes to us with a problem or opportunity, and through technology we are able to alleviate their pain points and frustrations and make their lives easier. Although each problem or opportunity brings its own unique challenges, it is worth the effort every time.
What are your areas of expertise?
I have expertise in project management, strategic planning, and business relationship management.
Which services does your work relate to?
Please list some related projects/tools/resources you work on
I have overseen the development of several tools currently in use in the Faculty, including Arts CMS, Arts Internal Resources, Arts Mailing List System, Arts Digital Collections, and the Ways of Knowing Course Planning Tool.
Can you share some of your personal interests or hobbies?
I enjoy running, hiking, camping, and generally anything outdoors. I also enjoy roasting and preparing coffee for friends and colleagues, and am happy to chat over coffee anytime.
Fun fact: I graduated from the Faculty of Arts in 2008 with a BA and major in International Relations, which has made supporting the Faculty particularly meaningful.
