UBC IT offers Adobe product licenses for faculty and staff for free. These products are available for UBC-owned computers and personally purchased computers, to conduct university business. At this time, the licensing agreement does not allow you to use the software for personal, non university work.

Starting February 5, 2021, you must go to the UBC Software Portal to add this product to your account every 3 months. Also, everyone who currently has Adobe access will lose access on February 28, 2021 unless you perform the steps below. Even if your Adobe is working fine right now, you still have to do this. You do not have to uninstall/reinstall the software or download anything new, you just need to add the subscription to cart and check out. 

Please note that despite having Cloud in the product name, the UBC version of Adobe Creative Cloud does not offer cloud storage. Certain cloud-based functionality within the individual programs are disabled. Lastly, software updates do not work.

Verify Eligibility

This software is only available to UBC staff and faculty with an active job appointment, and you can install it on as many computers as you want whether it is your home personal computer or your UBC paid and owned computer, but can only be activated 2 computers at a time, and only 1 computer can launch Adobe at any given time.

Verify Computer Specs

The Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application lets you choose which Adobe software you want, and update the software as needed. You do not need to install the entire suite of Adobe software just to use Photoshop. We do not recommend installing it on any computer with less than 8GB of ram. We also do not recommend installing it on budget computers equipped with Intel Celeron/Pentium, AMD E1/E2, AMD A4/A6 as these are very low powered processors.

Go to https://ubc.onthehub.com and log in with your CWL, then add Adobe Creative Cloud Subscription to your cart and check out. Once you completed the check out, go to https://ubc.service-now.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0017459#install and follow the instructions to install. Please note, you must repeat the check out process every 3 months. If you do not, you will lose access to the software immediately after 3 months.
