Microsoft Teams & OneDrive Now Available

August 26, 2020

To help support operational, administrative, and collaboration needs, UBC has soft launched Microsoft (MS) Teams and OneDrive.

MS Teams provides asynchronous and synchronous collaboration, including persistent chat, file editing, and video conferencing. MS OneDrive is a file hosting service that allows users to securely store, share, and synchronize files and folders from anywhere and anytime, and will be replacing UBC’s legacy Workspace file sharing service.

As both Skype for Business and MS Teams are similar Microsoft products, the Instant Messaging and Meetings components can only exist in either Skype for Business or MS Teams. Over the next few months, all Skype for Business users will need to move to MS Teams.
