Zoom is a video conferencing application that can be used to conduct live online lectures and have meetings with your students. Features that will allow you to engage with your students remotely include: screen sharing, a virtual interactive whiteboard, polling, feedback through reactions, chat and breakout rooms for smaller discussions.
This workshop is geared towards those who are new to Zoom in an instructor role within the Faculty of Arts.
Learning objectives
By the end of the session, attendees will be able to:
- Run an online lecture using Zoom and manage participants using the Waiting Room
- Schedule a Zoom session in advance for lectures and office hours so they are accessible for students
- Create and manage breakout rooms used to support group activities
- Access recordings so they may be shared with students based on need
- Share content with students using the Share Screen and Polling features
- Leverage Focus mode and Zoom Whiteboards
